 Loseling
Altruistic Medical Association (registered), a charitable medical association,
is an autonomous part of Drepung Losleing Monastery. Though Loseling Dispensary
was established in the year 1984, the new Loseling clinic was inaugurated
by His Holiness the Dalai Lama on 9th December 2002. This clinic provides
basic facilities like X-ray, Pathological Lab. & Pharmacy at free
of cost not only to monks and nuns but also to the poor needy people.
This clinic offers free medications for the monks and nuns plus free consultation with 40% concision on medicine for the Tibetan refugees and the native Indians inhabiting nearby. We also provide free medications for those villagers who cannot afford medications. On an average 120 sick people, per day, comes for diagnosis and treatment. The swift action, easy accessibility and pure dedication of the medical staffs have saved couple of lives from doorstep of death. Many of our beneficiaries are infected with diabetes, Hypertension, Hepatitis-B, Tuberculosis.
In this year annual performance report of Loseling clinic indicates that over 22,832 patients were provided charitable medical services from 28th June 2003 to 30th June 2004.
